Presentation

HDF (Hierarchical Data Format) is a format developed by NCSA (National Center for Supercomputing Applications) to manipulate and exchange text, graphic or digital data. It is a flexible format, expandable with the particularity that it can be shared between different platforms.

Files Structure

HDF files can contain raster image, text, color palette, Vdata (two-dimensional array), SDS (Scientific Data Set) and multi-dimensional array.
